What: The Global Day of Service is a worldwide initiative to encourage environmental service in honor of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. The Earth Day Network is organizing large- and small-scale acts of service in partnership with individuals, organizations and corporations across the nation and around the world.
When: Saturday, April 17th at 10:30 AM (sign-in) and 11:00 AM (start)
Where: The National Mall
Who: Approximately 250-300 volunteers recruited by the Trust for the National Mall and the Earth Day Network. Volunteers will be divided into groups led by a National Park Service employee.
How: The Trust for the National Mall and the L’Enfant Society, along with the Earth Day Network, will promote the event via websites, social networking sites and word of mouth. Guests will register on the Earth Day Network and names will be provided to the National Park Service prior to the event.
