Deacon hightailed it to Cleveland Park last night for the opening party celebrating Tackle Box's newest location. We danced to the live reggae band, mingled with friends like Micha Weinblatt (Crooked Monkey), Tommy McFly (FRESH 94.7), Laura Chavez (WUSA) and Kara Manos (Capitol File), sipped delicious lemonade cocktails and noshed on seafood including oysters and grilled lobster. Yum.
This new iteration is twice the size of the original, and offers similarly rustic decor (think old buoys and wooden picnic tables), plus an antique American flag (a massive 15 by 10 feet) dating back to 1908. The massive 48-star flag hangs from the right wall, spanning two floors of the restaurant.
New menu items include the signature New England Lobster Pot improved with a build-your-own option, allowing customers to purchase a variety of steamed seafood in a shellfish pot and a la carte offerings of corn on the cob, red bliss potatoes and drawn butter.

We'll be honest - we took photos, but these images, from Moshe Zusman, are way, way better.
