What reminds you of summer? Deacon somehow always thinks of hot dogs and beer, and there's no better place to snag a 'dog than at DC-3 restaurant on Capitol Hill. (Although, if we really want a hot dog, we can always just bug our brother Marty, a dachshund...)
The resto is now offering an expanded menu just in time for summer baseball season. In addition to their 15 specialty dogs, they've added beer and soft serve.
“With the start of warmer weather and baseball season, there is nothing that goes with a hot dog more than an ice cold beer,” said Ty Neal, principal partner of the matchbox Food Group. “DC-3 offers a taste of summer for everyone – a full soft serve ice cream bar with a variety of toppings, hand spun cotton candy, hot dogs from all different regions, and now a great start to a growing selection of beer.”
Beginning with two varieties, DC-3 will offer a PBR tall boy, a staple in the matchbox Food Group family, which would pair nicely with any of the hot dog selections, including the Chicago 7 (above) opped with tomato, pickle spears, nuclear green relish, onions, sport peppers, yellow mustard and celery salt.
Also offered will be McSorley’s Irish Black Lager, a unique ale with a malty flavor and caramel sweetness, which would make a great pair with the Cincinnati Coney topped with DC-3’s own house made chili, cheese, onions, and yellow mustard.
Yum.
