Luxe Life: Saks Predicts Inaugural Trends

What are big names going to be wearing on the Red Carpet for the upcoming inaugural events? We've got the inside scoop from Michael Fink and Eric Jennings, fashion directors from none other than Saks Fifth Avenue.

(In case you're wondering, we'll also be attending the Neimans fashion preview on the 19th, and will be sure to blog about all the fun stuff we hear there too!)

Without further ado, here are the themes:

Women:
Thus far Saks has seen women leaning toward conservative styles in jewel tones such as navy, black, and bronze and splashes of color such as grass green for their inaugural gowns.

Menswear:
Saks has seen men opting for a modern, more tailored tuxedo and moving away from the traditional bowtie in favor of long ties. Black formal shirts, splashes of prints and velvet are popular ways to accent their look.
