In Case You Missed It: Santa Soiree, a success!

Did you see the post in Washingtonian? The recap is here.

Here's my more personal take, as well:

Last night's Santa Soiree at City Tavern Club was a great success - four levels of fabulously dressed ladies and gents, plus Vineyard Vines sponsored merchandise -- free holiday ties for the men, koozies and whale hats galore.

A few observations:

  • Four levels means you can't find anyone.
  • Nobody could see your shoes. Sadly, my Loubs went unnoticed.
  • Metallics and sequins were the dress code du jour. Feathers didn't make so much of an appearance, except in a few girl's hair. Sadly, they ended up in the "I'm channeling Blair Waldorf and didn't quite make it there" category rather than looking cute.
  • Most men wore your standard cumberbund-bow tie set, and looked great, albeit a bit like penguins. Those that wore holiday ties stood out - in a good way. Those that chose plaid pants or otherwise gaudy vests looked like idiots. Exception: the guy in the glasses and pink (Lily Pulitzer?) tuxedo shirt. You, my friend, looked amazing.
More photos to come ... but here are a few to get you started:
