In Case You Missed It: Nanette Lepore Opens
Washington's most fashionable gathered last night to celebrate the opening of the newish Nanette Lepore boutique in the Collection at Chevy Chase. The boudoir-themed boutique has been open for a few months, but hadn't been properly christened until Nanette herself could fly in from the Big Apple.
It's a small space, but looks like there's plenty of room for browsing it isn't packed with people. In typical DC fashion, attendees wore an interesting mix of business casual and cocktail, and, as usual, the intrepid fashion blogger, ProjectBeltway, stood out, in a $38 David Meister dress she'd snagged on the sale rack at Bloomies. (She's standing with Kate Michael, former Miss DC).
Deacon fully approved of the comfort-food inspired nibbles-- mini salmon rolls on bite-sized latkes, twice-baked potato bites, and steak with wasabi sauce on pita chips. The girly pink Nanette cocktails were delish as well... although they packed an unexpectedly alcoholic punch. Whoo, whoo.
Nanette herself was a doll and certainly the center of attention. (That's us with Nanette herself! Sadly, Deacon had other plans and couldn't attend.) Wish you all the best with the new boutique, and can't wait for your spring collection to hit stores!

Glad I found this blog and wondering where you get your inspiration. I see you like reading but have you read the master and margarita?
If only I can find my way back through a trail, I would love to stop by again?
So glad you like the blog! What started out as a class project has morphed into my way to get the word out about cool things going on in DC. I used to write HotList DC for DC Magazine, before it became JuliB, and realized there was an underserved niche in the area - where can people find a targeted list of great things to do that doesn't have a hidden promotional agenda.
If I like it, it goes up... if it sucks, it doesn't. Deacon fully approves all of the events too - he's named after Wake Forest, my alma mater.
Woohoo--you like me, you really like me!
