You're Invited: Spring Style (with Lucky Mag) at CUSP!
Deacon does occasionally take a break from posting about his own events to highlight worthy ones from friends - especially when those friends have sweet style.
Don't miss this party hosted by our friend Betsy over at FashionIsSpinach.com.
She's an "alpha shopper" for Lucky magazine and we know that anything with her stamp on it is bound to be great. Plus, who can resist CUSP??
Click the photo to learn more over on her blog, or RSVP here.

Splurge vs. Steal: OTK Overload
We're not crazy about the OTK boot trend this season - unless you're Twiggy, you simply come off looking like a hooker, wanna-be pirate or (gasp), an overstuffed sausage. That said, we couldn't resist these flat boots which conveniently fold down at the top to be worn as knee-highs or OTKs if you so choose.

Deacon predicts these will be our go-to for tucking into jeans, leggings, and wearing with dresses all season long ... but the true question begs - should we opt for a splurge or a steal? At $200 for the splurge, these babies are still well within our price point.
Riddle me this, Deacon fans: can you tell me which one is more expensive? Judging by the photos, we can't.
Answers, in case you're wondering - the pair on the left is the $200 Sam Edelman "splurge" and the one on the right is by Rampage for $80.
That said, the Rampage boots are faux suede while the Sam Edelman ones (which we picked up today at Cusp) are real. We've ordered the Piperlime pair as a comparison buy, and it's looking like they'll come out a winner ... because with this "steal" we can afford to buy two pair for the price of one!

Mark Your Calendars: Spring 2009 Dolce Vita (Shoes) Trunk Show at CUSP Tysons Corner

We bought a pair of Dolce Vita's chic sandals last year (with butterflies on the toe!) and wore them right into the ground - literally ... we had them re-soled after the season ended. Since then, this former Nordstrom buyer and Parsons grad has been turning out more and more covetable footwear at affordable prices, including partnerships with big name brands like Steve Madden.
(At left, the Aires sandal is $125)
We're tickled to see what he's got in store for the spring line, showcased in its entirety at CUSP Tysons Corner on Friday, February 27 from 1-4 PM. There's a free gift with purchase too .. all the more incentive to scoot your bootay over to McLean.

You're Invited: Teen Vogue Young Hollywood Launch Party
Thank you, CUSP, for considering your Georgetown location important enough to host a launch event for Teen Vogue's Young Hollywood issue. Remember the episode of The Hills when Lauren and Whitney planned the New York fashion show launch party? Yeah, it's one of our faves.Deacon will sadly be out of town, but do let us know if you attend ... this sounds like a fun time!
