You’re Invited: Samurai Tea at the Willard

Come visit the Willard InterContinental Hotel to honor the 150th Anniversary of Japan’s First Delegation to United States with a Samurai Tea. The Samurai Tea takes place on May 22 and 23, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The event includes savories by DC’s Kushi restaurant, Japanese confections by Minamoto Kichpan of Tokyo and New York and tea by ITO EN. The cost for the tea is $39 excluding tax and tip, additional $10 for Plum Wine cocktail.

In addition to the delectable Japanese menu including Chicken Breast Maki Morokyu, Temari Sushi, and Fuku Fuksa, just to name a few, the tea will also feature presentations by costumed Samurai and hosts, Ikebana Japanese floral arrangements by Ikebana International’s DC chater and Madame Tussauds newest figure, President Buchanan, who met with the delegation in 1860.
