The time is approaching for ladies to leave their men at home for an exciting evening of poker, drinks and charity. ‘Chicks with Chips,’ a charitable women’s poker tournament, is back for its second year (at a new location) and will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Whitlows on Wilson in Clarendon, Virginia at 4 p.m. Tickets are priced at $60 per player and proceeds from the tournament will directly benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Before participants divide into tables, a quick tutorial will be given to refresh the rules for poker aficionados and help first-timers on their game. In addition to playing Texas Hold ‘Em for a great cause, ladies will savor mouth-watering food and drinks, have the opportunity to win some amazing prizes, and enjoy their own night of poker and cocktails without feeling left out from men’s-only poker nights, all while being dealt cards by Chippendales-outfitted University of Maryland students.
Poker-savvy femmes will sip on Coronitas and unlimited non-alcoholic beverages, and nibble on delicious game-time appetizers in the “Loser’s Lounge.” For the fashionistas in the competition, ‘Chicks with Chips’ will be raffling off four advance screening tickets to the highly-anticipated Sex and the City 2 movie which officially releases on May 28.
The winners of the evening will also bag some fabulous prizes such as:
1. 1st place: 7 Days of Dining in Arlington ($400 value)
2. 2nd place: Gift card to Whitlow’s on Wilson/Restaurant 3 plus a poker set
3. 3rd place: Poker set
