We love discovering new ways to express ourselves, and taking our work (magazines) and our passion (great art) and combining them is just what local artist
Megan Coyle does.
Each piece is made entirely from recycled magazines and depicts different figures interacting with the environment around them. By using a technique she calls “painting with paper,”
Megan creates colorful collages that reflect an influence from her formal training in painting.
Her work will be shown at the Fisher Gallery in the Schlesinger Arts Center in Alexandria, Virginia. The solo show, titled “Piece by Piece: Figurative Collage,” opens May 14th, 2010 and runs through June 13th. The opening reception is on Saturday, May 22nd from 3:00 to 5:00pm, with an artist talk at 4:00pm.
Come out and support this recent graduate. Who knows, her art may inspire you!
