In Case You Missed It: Bettye Mueller at Simply Soles

Last night, we made our first ever visit to chic shoe boutique SimplySoles to sneak an exclusive meet n' greet with designer Bettye Mueller. We've been fans of the SimplySoles Web site for some time - the great graphic design and cool layout make us feel as if we're shopping in a well-edited closet, but the trek to Columbia Heights had deterred us from visiting ...until now.

The adorable space, located just behind the new Target, is light-filled and decorated with great accessories (love the chandeliers), reminscent, like the site, of a woman's boudoir.

Not only are the spring selections fun, but we had the chance to catch up with friends like Kelly Collis Frederick of CityShopGirl and pr maven Jill Collins, as well as finally connect in person with Andrea Rodgers of AskMissA.com and Barbara Saylor of Capitol B.com.

Most exciting, however, was getting to meet Bettye in person. We could wax poetic (so stylish! so thin! so young!) but that's not really Deacon's style. Instead, we'll share some fun photos of the night - and encourage you to visit the SimplySoles web site for great summer shoe pics.

'Till next time, xoxo,
Deacon

Photos, from the top: A) The fun spread of food, featuring a vegetarian lasagna "cupcake" (bottom left) that was actually quite good! B) Two of my favorites from the fall shoe collection C) Fun ladies at the event - that's Bettye, third from left.

Thanks so much for coming McLean. Loved hearing your stories about skipping school for "Neimans shopping day." I want your Mom!
