Even golf courses are getting into the social media madness. Atlantic Golf, which owns Queenstown Harbor, The Golf Club at South River, and Potomac Ridge, has set up @AtlanticGolf, a Twitter account where golfers can chat about course conditions, set up tee times, and share tips.
There's also a blog - www.atlanticgolf.wordpress.com, for those who prefer to communicate that way. We've heard rumors of web-only specials as well.
"More and more people as well as companies are using social media tools to communicate with one another so we are providing that convenience for our players who wish to interact with us online," said Lex Birney, president and CEO of The Brick Companies, the Edgewater, Md.-based operator of the golf courses.
These courses may be a bit of a jaunt from DC, but Queenstown especially is one of the area's top public courses and a well-deserved reprieve from round after round at your local club or Haines Point.
