Whether it's lamb vindaloo, curry chicken, or just garlic naan, the team at DeaconDoesDC is always up for Indian food. That's why we're headed to Chevy Chase fave Indique Heights in October for chef/owner K. Vinod's new cooking class series highlighting the regions of India.
Pick a favorite and get cooking - here's a sneak peek at the schedule and menus:
October 18: Northern India
Northern Indian cuisine has many central Asian influences due to its geographical location. Expect dishes like vegetable samosas.
November 2: Southern India
The rich flavors of Southern India pay homage to the exotic spices found in the region, which include, cardamom, pepper corns, nutmeg, cinnamon , and many others. Expect dishes like Kerala Fish Curry and Lemon Rice.
December 3: The Street Snacks of India
In the grand finale of this cooking class series Vinod will demonstrate India's iconic street snacks. Expect nine "mini" dishes including Dosas.
Classes are fairly reasonable -- $55 each, including the cooking demo, three-course wine lunch, and recipes for each dish. All classes run from noon to 3 PM.
