FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New book will go behind the scenes with alleged

White House party-crashers

Investigative journalist Diane Dimond’s Cirque du Salahi:  Be Careful Who You Trust, available for pre-order exclusively from Amazon on August 4, will reveal the true inside story of the controversial socialite couple

August 2nd, 2010 / NEW YORK –Acclaimed investigative reporter Diane Dimond's embargoed book, Cirque du Salahi:  Be Careful Who You Trust is now slated for publication on September 17, 2010.  Michaele and Tareq Salahi have provided exclusive cooperation in the writing of this book with Dimond.  The book will take readers inside the glamorous, mysterious and oft-misunderstood lives of the Salahis, the Washington, D.C. power couple that instantly became famous after attending a November 2009 White House event.

“In terms of newspaper column inches, minutes on television news programs and hits on prominent web sites, there are few people who’ve commanded such attention in modern-day America,” Dimond says. “I’ve been able to get the Salahis to open up and reveal documents, photographs and the innermost secrets of their lives. Readers will be shocked once they are able to trace the true events that brought the Salahis to the White House – especially when they see the dreadful way the media handled this in the aftermath.”

In the days following their now-legendary state dinner appearance, the Salahis became the focus of a national media frenzy and soon found themselves listed among the most talked about and polarizing figures in the public eye. But are they really the gate-crashing attention seekers portrayed by the media? In this groundbreaking expose, Dimond challenges claims that the Salahis purposefully trespassed at the White House event and exposes the media sensationalism that made the enigmatic couple a lightning rod for criticism and curiosity around the globe.

Available August 4 for pre-order on Amazon.com, the book examines the events of that fateful night and delves into the little-known pasts of Michaele and Tareq Salahi including their whirlwind courtship and jet-setting lifestyle of fine wine, polo and surprise dinners in Paris. The book also examines the couple’s questionable claims, from Michaele’s statements about being a Redskins cheerleader to Tareq’s political connections.

Part of the ensemble on the upcoming BRAVO Network original series “The Real Housewives of DC” Michaele and Tareq Salahi remain one of the most intriguing couples in America.

Dimond is represented in this project by literary manager Sharlene Martin.  Martin also represented the Goldman family in taking back the rights of O.J. Simpson’s book, If I Did It, which was a national best seller.  “CreateSpace, part of the Amazon group of companies, was my first publishing choice for this book because the traditional publishing route would be too slow to accommodate the timeliness of this story.  We had to get this book to market to coincide with Season One of the new Bravo reality series, “The Real Housewives of DC.”

This untold story of their lives and the events that led the Salahis to the White House that fateful night will be available exclusively through Amazon in both e-book and trade paperback formats.

Diane Dimond is best known for her groundbreaking investigative reporting on national television outlets such as Hard Copy, CNBC, MSNBC, NBC’s Today Show and Dateline, Court TV, Fox News and more recently on Entertainment Tonight where she serves as special correspondent. Dimond writes a weekly syndicated column for Creators Syndicate, is an active contributor to The Daily Beast and is the author of Be Careful Who You Love: Inside the Michael Jackson Case.  More information about Diane Dimond can be found at www.DianeDimond.com.

*Ed note: Michaele Salahi has been nothing but wonderfully nice the few times Deacon has met her. But really - stemming your media portrayal by issuing an obviously biased book? Not. The. Way. To. Go.

That shameless, social climbing, I will do anything to be famous, dead-beat wants you to "Come join DC’s MOST FABULOUS Magazine, star of Real Housewives of DC/Commander in Chic – MICHAELE SALAHI and invited cast members of the Real Housewives of DC, OC, Atlanta, New York and New Jersey as we welcome the newest member of the Real Housewives franchise." Does that mean some cast members weren't invited? I wonder how the other cast members feel about MIssy Salahi's self-proclaimed title of "Star."
