Currently Coveting: White Hot

There's just something about warm weather that makes us want to take off our usual wardrobe of black, black, and a touch of grey and bring on the color, or, more specifically, the lack of.

It's white that's caught our eye this seasons, and we've been trying desperately to find the perfect outfit. The problem is, this lovely neutral is often see-thru ...and we'd prefer our Hanky Pankys not be on display for the whole world to see.

Lauren by Ralph Lauren "Grace" dress. Always a classic, Ralph Lauren makes simple seem sophisticated. Plus, the price is right at $130.












Adrianna Papell Floral Applique dress. Lightweight and breezy, the floral and sheer detailings make this dress perfect for a summer night out. Plus, at $118, the price is far lower than other similar dresses we've seen.


















Halston Heritage White Jersey Dress. Love, love love it - and not just because it's worn by Carrie Bradshaw in the promo for the new SATC movie, either. This is a wearable dress for work, play, or anywhere in-between, depending on the jewelery and shoes. Plus, at $325, it's relatively affordable for the designer label.















Bailey 44 Tiered Tank Dress. Love this dress (although perhaps more in other colors) because it's super wearable - pair with heels for night or flip flops and a denim jacket for a day of shopping. $192.
















Badgley Mischka Platinum Label. Love the beading on the neckline of this flirty summer dress. $695.


















Ali Ro Silk Blouson Dress. For a step towards the more formal, this dress is sexy yet simple. Plus, the blouson draping is very figure-flattering. $265.

















Notte by Marchesa ruffle bust gown. If a wedding were in our future, we'd hurry and order this amazing gown - it's not technically a wedding dress, but it's white and long and a fraction of the cost of what a real wedding dress should be. Love it. $1,155.

Luxe Life: Holiday dresses, where art thou?

In the past four days, Deacon has scoured all malls and most boutiques in the DC-metro area and still hasn't found the perfect dress for her numerous holiday shindigs.

We're sick of wearing this number and none of these in our recent post fit quite right.

This dress by Bailey 44 is the best of our options (Thank you, Imagine!) but it still isn't quite what we need for a New Years Eve wedding or for the upcoming Santa Soiree.

So I think it's off to the chain stores (after a thorough exploration of Urban Chic and Horse today) ... what do you think of this feathered number from Express, or even their sequin online exclusive? Am leaning towards the latter, as I won't be seeing myself coming and going.
