Say Yum: Red Velvet Opens New Reston Location Tomorrow

Suburbanites have a lot to be thankful for -- less traffic, cheaper housing, and the possibility of having a yard that includes more than a small patch of cement. But now they can also rejoice at the opening of one of DC's best cupcakeries, Red Velvet, debuting in Reston Town Center tomorrow!

To celebrate, the shop is giving away free cupcakes all day between 11 am and 11 pm.  Expect flavors like Devil's Food, a rich chocolate buttermilk cake with Valrhona bittersweet chocolate ganache frosting garnished with a 24K gold leaf; Summertime, a light and lemony delight with coconut cream cheese frosting; and Southern Belle, the shop’s best-selling and signature red velvet recipe topped with whipped cream cheese frosting.  The cupcakery also features seasonal treats like Maple Bacon, Champagne, Banana Hazelnut, Pistachio Raspberry and Honey Fig.
